The 2013 Pinot Noir shows lifted aromas of berries, spices and black tea lead to a layered palate of deep raspberry flavors, licorice and an earthy nuttiness. The mouthfeel is smooth, almost creamy and gives way to a complex and satisfyingly long finish of coffee, and dark cherry. The 2013 vintage was near perfect in the Russian River Valley. The Wine Spectator says: “A long and moderate growing season offered both good quality and quantity” and lists Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Syrah as the most promising grapes.
