Amarone della Valpolicella is an intensely flavored dry red wine made from dried grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are typically dried for 120 days, this makes for a stronger and more concentrated wine with minimal acidity. It is made in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, and is one of the region's most prestigious red wines. This wine is a rich, luscious, historically labor-intensive wine.

  • Tasting Notes: Dark, garnet-edged ruby; scents of wild cherry, dried rose petals, and cocoa powder; well balanced, with supple tannins. Two years of aging in French barrique have helped to craft a layered, complex Amarone with syrupy richness in the mouth, sweet smoke overtones and aromas of bacon, cola, leather and dried fruit.

  •  92 Points - Cellar Tracker "A great wine to use in a tasting class as it has some easily identifiable aromas that beginners could spot like bitter cherry and licorice. Pairs excellently with chocolate. Great price point too. Just a special wine all around, wish I had bought a case!" - Casadebalzli
