Washington State produces some of the best wines in America. The cool climate provides an excellent condition for complex acids and tannins that while clearly present have a tendency to be softer and more rustic. Over the past 25 years DeLille Cellars has been a major reason Washington State has gotten its reputation and their current releases continue their tradition of producing amazing wines!
Encompassing 4,040 acres, Red Mountain is Washington State’s smallest AVA and rivals Napa Valley with its ability to produce wines with power, depth and structure. Since the first vintage in 2010, DeLille Cellars Four Flags Cabernet Sauvignon has earned numerous accolades and consistent ratings, averaging 95 points. Four Flags is a harmonious and complex representation of the incomparable terroir of Red Mountain and a tribute to DeLille Cellars’ steadfast commitment to this respected viticultural area. DeLille Cellars 2014 Four Flags Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2014 Four Flags Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic Cabernet aromas of cassis, violets and Herbs de Provence. This wine screams of Red Mountain’s terroir with its combination of great structure and ripeness. On the palate, Four Flags is focused and savory with ripe, firm tannins. This vintage shows notes of fresh plums, currants and blueberries along with cardamom, fennel seed and a touch of flint.
Blended from four of the finest vineyards in the Red Mountain AVA, Four Flags possesses the character, richness and venerable structure that have become the signature qualities of Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
Each vineyard adds its unique pedigree to this complex blend. Grand Ciel (42%) brings elegance and purity of fruit while Upchurch (31%) demonstrates rich, savory, and mouthwatering character. Ciel du Cheval (19%) contributes structure, black fruits and minerality balanced by the commanding, ripe flavors from Klipsun (8%).
Masterfully blended, Four Flags is a harmonious and complex representation of the incomparable terroir of Red Mountain and a tribute to our steadfast commitment to this respected viticultural area.
